Under the deep quiet of the moonlit night where water meets the land. This design is created to honor Grandmother Rock and our dynamic, wild pacific coastal seascapes. Grandmother Rock is a sea stack located on Trinidad State Beach in Trinidad, CA, named because its silhouette resembles an elderly woman watching the sea. Crowned with Sitka spruces, the island next to Her is Pewetole Island, also known as Pu Island.

As the story goes, one day a young warrior launched his canoe into the cold waters of the ocean. He never returned; his grandmother waited so patiently for him on the beach that eventually the gods took pity on her and turned her into a rock.
