Rare colored Grey & White with a Black Stripe MerMat is handwoven from reclaimed crab pot rope. This is a one of a kind MerMat, there is only one of these. It includes rope colors which we rarely see, in this case the black.  (We can sometimes duplicate, so inquire if you want more than one)

YOUR  beautiful MerMat will remind you of your favorite day at the beach every time you wipe the mud off your boots. It is sophisticated, solid and durable and will welcome you home for years to come.

The rope used to make this MerMat has beautifully distinctive characteristic marks from its time spent in the ocean. The rusty marks come from the crab fishing and rope storage process.

What is a MerMat?

A Durable, Handwoven, One-Of-A-Kind Doormat Made From Reclaimed Crab Pot Rope. A MerMat is a sturdy Welcome Home Doormat made from rope that has spent much of its life underwater. It's therefore, half Mermaid and half doormat..it's a MerMat!

We honor the rope as a spirited being. It comes to us after already having had a full life of service hauling crab up out of the ocean. There is an alchemy that is happening with each mat I weave ... a piece of rope and a man becoming something new together. I am helping the rope extend its usefulness and the rope is helping me express the hidden artist that lives in my heart.

Made in Humboldt County, CA. Each MerMat is a Treasure of Personality and Hand-Crafted Happiness. We hope you will enjoy the way these friendly, one-of-a-kind Seaside Weavers MerMats welcome you home each day.

Thank you for supporting our business and our desire to support the local fishermen by giving them a sustainable alternative to the landfill, one crab rope MerMat at a time.
