Javier Parrot Feather Sea Basket is handwoven from reclaimed crab pot rope.  He is flamboyant, and wonderfully colored with a very rare (for us) red rope intertwined with a bold aqua blue.  Spines of creamy white make Sir Parrot Feather a natural Winter season winner.  Javier does not have handles.  He is large in size, rare, a true one-of-a-kind, very  sturdy and functional. He will fit in anywhere, offering his usefullness ... Hearth, toy room,  holding a large plant  (Poinsetta anyone?) indoor or out because it's ok if this rope gets wet!
 
This Sea Basket was hand woven out of rope which has been sourced directly from our local fishermen.The rope itself has beautifully distinctive characteristic marks from its time spent in the ocean. The rusty marks come from the crab fishing and rope storage process. We like to preserve as much of the history of the rope’s fishing usefulness as possible. Look carefully and you will find knots, rope splices, loops and more, woven directly into this basket.
