Cruz Starry Stonewort Sea Basket is handwoven from reclaimed crab pot rope. Cruz is a decorative basket woven out of a beautiful softly textured white rope that has dark blue flecks. He features a flourish of shedded rope "sea foam",  a dangle of oyster shells I've collected at the beach and beautiful strands jasper beads. He also has a starfish added that was made by Plastics Uniquely Recycled out of reclaimed prescription pill bottles!  Cruz is more of a pretty boy than a work horse. His spines are multi colored petals of aqua and medium bright blue. Cruz Starry Stonewort  does not have a handle. Medium sized, decorative, deep and functional.
 
This Sea Basket was hand woven out of rope which has been sourced directly from our local fishermen. The rope itself has beautifully distinctive characteristic marks from its time spent in the ocean. The rusty marks come from the crab fishing and rope storage process. We like to preserve as much of the history of the rope’s fishing usefulness as possible. Look carefully and you will find knots, rope splices, loops and more, woven directly into this basket.
